Morgon is still fairly new on the scene, but we have been cheering them on since day one. When we first reached out to try their coffee back in July during Yonder's pre-launch, we became their 30th customer, and we have been waiting a few months now for several amazing coffees to come in so we can share them with you guys. While their company is young, the team behind it has a lifetime of coffee experience. Markus Vestergaard, Gabriella Runesson and Christian Gullbrandsson are old friends who had all worked in different areas of the coffee industry before coming together to create something new together. As they put it, they're not that special. But they work with special coffees.
"We get to work side by side with inspiring and hardworking producers, baristas and businesses that share our vision to create a unique experience. We believe that it’s in the collaboration with other people, with different knowledge and different stories, that you can create something that is the true meaning of special. It’s a product of extensive care and dedication, passed down from several generations. We want to honor that work by interfering as little as possible, roasting carefully to bring out, and not weigh down the flavours. And by doing so, the coffee can tell its own story, coloured by its own heritage."
As a designer, I'm so drawn to Morgon, not just because of how delicious their coffee tastes, but how beautiful their visual recreations of their coffee is. I think we are all used to flavor profiles, tasting notes and even color-coded packaging to help us navigate flavor, but Morgon's designers help bring a whole new dimension to that, and we are here for it. Check out their website and follow them on instagram to see what I mean.
