For many, the mention of Berlin conjures images of walls, totalitarian regimes, and darkened pasts. But you would be hard pressed to find a city that has so thoroughly risen from its ashes, learned from its history, and reinvented itself as a result. Now a world capital of design, art, food, and culture, it's a vibrant place that is careful not to forget or explain away the stains of its past. So while glimpses of the wall are ever there to remind us of what humanity is capable of, Checkpoint Charlie is now in Berlin’s shadow, instead of the other way around.
Coffee is no exception. Innovation, quality, and service are all highly valued in German culture, and paired with Berlin’s flair for the eccentric, the coffee coming out of this city never disappoints. And Bonanza is perhaps our favorite example of this. Their gorgeous Kreuzberg roastery is one of our favorite cafe spaces in the world and their coffee is legitimately mind-blowing good. We are thrilled to bring them to our friends in the US, and hope they inspire you as much as they do us.
